The early morning light reveals impala, zebra, and a field full of wildebeest and other hoofed beasts beating down the African ground. Heads of giraffe poke up through the tallest acacia trees, warthog dash into cover. From the freedom of our landcruiser vehicle we search for lion, hyena, even leopard. With the top of our vehicle lifted nothing stands between us and a parade of elephants marching past. Only in the Selous, if our guide is capable and the dogs are complying, we will catalogue the endangered African wild dog.

With the top off our vehicles chase the beating of hoofs, Wildebeest, Eland, Impala, Kudu, Waterbuck and Zebra across the dusty savannah. Train your eyes and cameras for an endless stream of wildlife, too numerous to list. And if your eyes and graces are good you might see the elusive and very endangered East African Wild Dog in the only place in the world where it still roams.
